Cost-Effective Means to Generate Revenue Works Well in Seattle, Lancaster, Pa., and Across Canada
CARLSBAD, CA, USA (January 12, 2010) – Adicio Inc., the leading provider of interactive classified advertising software solutions for media companies, provides a cost-effective means to generate revenue, drive traffic and monetize candidate databases through Virtual Job Fairs. Adicio’s Virtual Job Fairs (VJFs) can be deployed in combination with any existing job-board platform, although Adicio clients benefit from added integration.
VJFs enable job seekers to pre-register, view in-depth videos to get an inside look at organizations and use virtual chat to connect in real time with company representatives. In addition, they can search available positions as well as apply and manage jobs; research detailed company profiles and additional collateral; complete Skills Interviews to match qualifications with open positions; research salaries for specific job titles in locations of interest; and organize and manage their resumes/CVs and jobs.
Working.com, a national Canadian job board, relied on Adicio’s Virtual Job Fair product to create a virtual event last year that focused on six employer categories, including public sector, health care, retail, finance and engineering, as well as a general category. Working.com launched an integrated marketing campaign that included print ads, online ads and aggressive packages to attract both job seekers and employers and recruiters. The results speak for themselves: Working.com generated more than $200K in new revenue, while attracting more than 91,000 visitors to the event.
Over 120 employers took part including Shell Canada, Canon, SNC Lavalin, Staples, Saskatchewan Power Corp., Provincial Health Services Authority, Vancouver Coastal Health Authority and St. Michael's Hospital, among others.
Employer benefits from VJFs are numerous, including: lower cost-per-hire; opportunity to extend brand and visibility with VJF-specific company profiles, including logos and videos; showcase specialized or hard-to-fill job openings; utilize Skills Interviews and live chat to quickly pre-screen candidates for open positions; easily search and contact prospective candidates before and after the event; receive notification when candidates match alert specifications; rank, manage and organize candidates; and track responses and measure ROI.
The Seattle Times also used Adicio’s VJF technology for a fair last fall that targeted healthcare professionals in the Seattle area. They offered new advertisers the opportunity to post their open positions, while existing clients’ listings were automatically posted if they wanted to participate in the event. The VJF also provided one-on-one chat; employer profiles with an option to upload videos; healthcare content; and regional information and relocation content.
Promotion of the site included banner ads on SeattleTimes.com; banner ads in all unsold Job Alerts emails; promotion on NWJobs.com and SeattleTimes.com; event listing on NWJobs.com; a network search spotlight; and print ads three times a week.
“We had over a 1,000 resumes submitted during our VJF and picked up some new advertisers.” said Denise Lee, Product Manager, New Media, The Seattle Times Company. “Overall, it was a success, producing significant incremental revenue gains.”
Lancaster Newspapers also looked to Adicio for their recent job fair. Given the economy, they thought that the best strategy was to focus on health care and offer low introductory pricing to local employers. They utilized Adicio’s VJF features including company profiles; job package selections; access to Job Manager tools; chat sessions; and resume search. Employers who signed up also received a bonus – advertising on LancasterOnLine.com promoting their company and directing job seekers to pre-register for the job fair.
“The support from Adicio was exceptional, especially since this was our first virtual job fair. Our net revenue exceeded $4,000. For our first attempt during a challenging economy, we’re really pleased,” said Chris Fauser, Classified Real Estate & Employment Coordinator at Lancaster Newspapers, Inc. “We’re already planning our next VJF.”
“Virtual Job Fairs enable employers to expand their reach and tap into a broader talent pool, ensuring that they see the most qualified candidates for their open positions.” said Tony Lee, Chief Alliance Officer, Adicio. “It’s an efficient way of maximizing personnel and budgetary resources and, by doing a good job publicizing the event, employers are guaranteed results.”
